Every word must contain the centre letter T. The bonus petal is ★ L — any word containing L earns 5 extra points on top of its length score.

Work through these in order, stopping as soon as you’re unstuck. Each hint gives away a little more than the last.
- Start with the centre. All 30 of today’s words contain the letter T. If the word in your head has no T, it can’t score — move on.
- Follow the bonus petal ★ L. A 4-letter word containing L scores 2 + 5 = 7 points — more than a plain 6-letter word (6 pts). When choosing between two finds, pick the one with L.
- Know the shape of the day. There are 15 four-letter words, 9 five-letter words, 5 six-letter words and a single seven-letter word. The points live in the long words — don’t spend all twelve guesses on short ones.
- Mind the starting letters. 13 words begin with T, 7 with H, 6 with W, 2 with A, and just 1 each with L and O. If one of those groups is empty in your found list, that’s where your missing words are hiding.
- The seven-letter word is a name. It starts with H and belongs to a famous Silicon Valley surname. Once you see it, you can’t unsee it.
- Don’t hunt a pangram. There is no word using all seven letters today — save your guesses for long scoring words instead.
